The yen's strength

The yen's strength against the dollar and other major currencies is making overseas travel cheaper for Japanese holidaymakers.
A travel agency in Tokyo says reservations for overseas trips plunged immediately after the March 11th disaster, but demand for travel is back up to the same level as last year.
By country, the agency says the number of customers to South Korea and other Asian countries is up about 10 percent year-on-year.
It also says, the number of Japanese tourists to Hawaii and Guam is at the same level as last year.
The agency has put up posters encouraging customers to take advantage of the favorable exchange rates.

Beijing

I went to Beijing from July twelfth to sixteenth. I went to a foreign country for the first time for the two years. It takes neary three hours from Tokyo to Beijing. The frist impression of Beijing when I was getting off the flight, grey sky and dusty. Chinese Government anaunced, This cloudy sky is fog, tour conductor said, this is actually smog. I thought that is China. We visited several World Heritage Sites sach as the great wall of China, Teanmon square, Kokyu musium and Beijing zoo etc. These were ancient magnificent architectures. I felt the long history of Beijing. The other way, Rords were always busy, cars, motorcycles, carriages passing througt the rord. Althought, no accident people give way to each other. I thought Chinese are easy going and they have energy. If I have an opportunity visit Beijing seconed time, I want to go there after gray sky turn to be blule sky.

Nadeshiko Tapan

Japan's world champion women's soccer team has made a triumphant return. The team is nicknamed Nadeshiko. They defeated FIFA's top-ranked side, the U.S., 3 to 1 in a penalty shootout. Nadeshiko arrived at Narita Airport which is near Tokyo, on Tuesday morning. They flew into Narita from Frankfurt, where the 2011 Women's World Cup final was held on Sunday night(17th).
The 21-member squad, including tournament MVP Homare Sawa, spoke at a news conference in Tokyo.

Goya

I planted Goya in planter to make green curtain with Goya in May. Goya was growing well to one hundred fify centimeters, and It felt more comfortable every day. But Goya withered during my travel suddenly. There were two reasons, One was my son forget watering, the other one was planter was too small. I was upset, When I saw Goya's leaves turned to be yellow from green. But I never give up, I bought Goya and a bigger planter again. This time, I don't want to fail to make it. By the time it works summer will be finshing.....(~~)

My decision

Japanese government decided, In this summer, We need to cut electricity use 15%. That't why I planted Goya in the planter and then I put it in front of living room. I won't use the air conditioner in this summer・・・But・・・

My brother

I visited elder brother who lives in Shiogama city in Miyagi prefectuer. His house was damaged by Tsumami. One month has passed after tsunami, It seemed like the same as day when tsumami happened. In his house, the water came up to about one hundred fifty centimeters. But he was lucky, his house wasn't hit directly by tsumami. They have been trying to clean the house, and almost all the furnitures were wet and have to throw away. They escaped to his sister's house for two weeks. They came back to thier house now.

Natural disaster

The earthquake and Tsumami are natural disaster. Nuclear power plant accident is also caused by natural disaster. Nobady can prevent from those accidents and damages. Nuclear power plant, the invitation of brougt lolcal peaple maney and employment. And also we enjoy the benefit from electricity. This disaster makes us recognize importance of electricity. This time, we need to think how we can try to save energy.

rescued a dog

The Japan Coast Guard has rescued a dog from a roof of a house drifting in waters off Miyagi Prefecture. The dog seems to have spent three weeks on the roof since the March 11th quake.
On Friday afternoon, a coast guard helicopter saw a dog drifting in the sea about 1.8 kilometers off Kesennuma City, northern Japan.
Two rescue team members got down to the roof from the helicopter, but the dog was scared by the hovering sound and ran off.
Using a small boat, rescue team members approached the dog again. One of them jumped into the sea and managed to catch it.
When moved to a patrol boat, the dog looked weak and lay down, but later it was able to get up and to eat sausages and cookies. The dog recovered enough to wag its tail and lick the face of a crew member. The coast guard is looking for the animal's owner. (NHK)
